During the first 22 days of 2026: 380 search-and-sweep operations, 13,985 individuals questioned, 29 suspects in custody, Punjab Police spokesperson
Punjab Police, continued search-and-sweep operations against criminal and suspected elements across the province including Lahore in a consistent manner. Punjab Police spokesperson, while providing details, said that during the first 22 days of this year, a total of 380 search-and-sweep operations were conducted across the province, during which 13,985 individuals were questioned, while 29 suspects were taken into custody. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that during these operations, 7,707 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, 2,574 court absconders, and 978 habitual criminals were arrested. A large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of the arrested criminal and suspected individuals. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that search-and-sweep operations will continue without interruption to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable.
