More than 3,000 complaints resolved in the first 19 days of the current year۔ Recovery of 18 abducted persons through 1787 Complaint Center; monitoring further strengthened۔
The process of prompt and effective redress of complainants’ issues through the Punjab Police IGP Complaint Center 1787 is continuing consistently. While sharing details, Punjab Police spokesperson said that during just the first 19 days of the current year, more than 3,000 complaints received at the 1787 Complaint Center have been resolved. Complaints included 1,606 related to registration of cases and 445 regarding slow investigation. A total of 234 complaints related to police services and 136 complaints concerning departmental matters and other issues were also resolved. Similarly, 97 complaints regarding the arrest of accused, 162 related to recoveries, and 72 complaints concerning defective investigation were addressed. Complaints included 45 related to cancellation of false cases and 51 regarding change of investigation, which were also resolved.
Punjab Police spokesperson further said that during the grievance redress process through the IGP Complaint Center 1787, the successful recovery of 18 abducted persons was also carried out, which is clear evidence of the effectiveness of this system. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that all complaints received from citizens are being resolved within the prescribed timelines in accordance with SOPs. To further improve the performance of the 1787 Complaint Center, the monitoring system has been made more active. IG Punjab further said that all DPOs are personally monitoring the prompt redress of complaints received through the 1787 Complaint System. Dr. Usman Anwar urged citizens to contact the 1787 Complaint Center without hesitation in case of any complaint against police officials.
