Medalist Athletes Are Ambassadors of Punjab Police, IG Punjab Calls to Nurture Talent
Under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a ceremony was held at Central Police Office Lahore to award Punjab Police athletes who won medals in the 35th National Games 2025 with certificates of appreciation and cash prizes. IG Punjab honored 41 victorious Punjab Police athletes, coaches, and team managers who achieved remarkable success in the 35th National Games 2025 with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation. Congratulating the police athletes on winning medals at the National Games, IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that the department is proud of players who have enhanced its reputation through outstanding performances in national and international sports events. He said that Punjab Police athletes delivered their best performance to date at the 35th National Games held in Karachi.
IG Punjab further said that under the current regime, Punjab Police has introduced standardized uniforms and the Pakistan Police Sports Board flag for all athletes. He emphasized that medalist players are ambassadors of Punjab Police and should actively promote talent to contribute to Pakistan Police Sports. Dr. Usman Anwar announced that gold medalists in the National Games will receive PKR 300,000, silver medalists PKR 200,000, and bronze medalists PKR 100,000 as cash prizes. He added that over the past three years, police athletes and players have been awarded a total of PKR 7.5 million in cash prizes. IG Punjab further said that the encouragement of medal-winning athletes through the Police Sports Board platform will continue in the future.
Punjab Police spokesperson provided details, stating that bronze medalists in individual categories received PKR 100,000, while bronze medalists in team categories received PKR 25,000 per person along with certificates of appreciation. Similarly, team managers and coaches were awarded PKR 25,000 per person and certificates of appreciation. The spokesperson further said that in the 35th National Police Games, Pakistan Police athletes won a total of 40 medals across various events, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 26 bronze medals. Additionally, in demonstration sports, police athletes secured 3 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
