IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Orders High Security Across Lahore and Province on Friday
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, issued orders to enhance security across Lahore and the entire province on the occasion of Friday prayers. He directed that the security of mosques, imambargahs, shrines, markets, and other sensitive locations be ensured at all costs. IG Punjab instructed that patrolling around mosques, imambargahs, commercial centers, and along major roads be significantly increased. Search, sweep, and combing operations were to continue consistently across Lahore and the rest of the province.
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that maintaining law and order and protecting citizens’ lives and properties remains the top priority of Punjab Police. He instructed all DPOs and senior police officers to remain in the field to personally assess security arrangements. IG further directed that police officers listen to citizens’ concerns after Friday prayers at mosques and take immediate action for their resolution. Senior officers were also instructed to ensure that citizens’ complaints are heard and addressed directly at their doorsteps through mosque outreach programs.
