Major Success for Punjab Police Rahim Yar Khan as Notorious Katcha Dacoits Surrender
One Crore Rupees Head Money Proclaimed Dacoit Mera Lathani Surrenders Along with Accomplices
Punjab Police Rahim Yar Khan has achieved a major success while taking action against criminals operating in the Katcha area. As a result of sustained pressure by Rahim Yar Khan Police and effective intelligence-based operations, the notorious Katcha dacoit, highly dangerous proclaimed offender Mera Lathani, carrying a head money of one crore rupees, surrendered before the police along with his accomplices.
Punjab Police spokesperson while sharing details, said that the Government of Punjab had fixed a reward of one crore rupees on the head of the dangerous proclaimed offender Mera Lathani. Due to effective police actions, besides Mera Lathani, dacoits involved in heinous crimes, Fida alias Rathor Lathani and Zulfi Lathani, also surrendered themselves to the law. As the noose tightened by Rahim Yar Khan Police and continuous pressure was maintained in the Katcha areas, the dacoits decided to surrender. Under the leadership of DPO Rahim Yar Khan Irfan Ali Samoo, intelligence-based and targeted operations against criminals in the Katcha area are being carried out continuously. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that the surrendered dacoits are involved in murder, attacks on police, kidnapping for ransom, and other serious crimes, and are record holders.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, while appreciating the surrender of the notorious dacoits along with their accomplices, commended the DPO Rahim Yar Khan and his team. IG Punjab said that Punjab Police is fully committed to the complete eradication of crime and the enforcement of law. DPO Rahim Yar Khan Irfan Ali Samoo said that those who surrender their weapons and choose a peaceful life will be provided full opportunities to lead a better life; however, actions against criminal elements will continue without any discrimination.
