IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar’s Leadership Brings Historic Achievements for Punjab Police in 2025.
Merit-Based Promotions for Thousands, Billions in Employee Welfare, Significant Crime Reduction.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, through his strong and visionary leadership, guided Punjab Police to achieve remarkable and historic successes in 2025. These achievements encompassed public service, historic welfare of police employees, and multiple areas of crime prevention, reflecting the force’s professional capabilities, commitment to reforms, and ongoing efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and ensure community safety.
Punjab Police spokesperson, while giving details, said that during the year 2025, more than 6,000 police officers and personnel across the province were promoted based on merit and seniority. Approval for a new promotion structure from the Government of Punjab was also obtained for fast-track promotions of traffic wardens and senior traffic wardens. During 2025, a total of seven and a half billion rupees were spent on the welfare of police employees and their families. The monthly stipend for children of police employees affected by thalassemia was increased from 15,000 to 30,000 rupees, while the stipend for children suffering from cerebral palsy was increased from 10,000 to 20,000 rupees. Additionally, a monthly stipend of 10,000 rupees was approved for children of police employees affected by autism.
Regarding public services, over 3,844,000 citizens were provided services at police Khidmat Marakaz across the province. Through Mesaaq Centers, services were provided to more than 132,000 minority citizens, while more than 100,000 deserving individuals received services at protection centers. At driving license centers, driving licenses were issued to over 1 crore citizens. More than 185,000 complaints received at IG Punjab Complaint Center 1787 were addressed promptly. During search and combing operations in 2025, more than 145,000 wanted criminals were arrested, while calls received at Helpline 15 saw an overall reduction of 49 percent. During the crackdown against drug dealers, more than 76,000 drug dealers were arrested and large quantities of drugs were recovered. Similarly, during the crackdown against electricity theft, 60,482 electricity accused were arrested , punishments and fines were enforced.
