IGP Complaint Center 1787: Record of prompt redressal of public complaints in 2026. More than 185,000 complaints resolved in one year, increase in public trust in the police system.

The performance report of the IGP Complaint Center 1787 for the year 2025 has been released. While sharing the details, the spokesperson for Punjab Police said that during the year 2025, more than 185,000 complaints received at the IGP Complaint Center 1787 were resolved under an effective system, which is clear evidence of a significant improvement in police service delivery. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that more than 64,000 complaints related to registration of cases and more than 39,000 complaints related to delayed investigations were redressed. More than 7,965 complaints related to police services and 9,596 complaints related to departmental affairs and other matters were also resolved. Similarly, effective resolution was ensured for 8,603 complaints related to arrest of accused persons, 15,209 complaints related to recoveries, and 7,853 complaints related to ineffective investigations.

Action was also taken on 3,842 complaints regarding cancellation of false cases, while 2,525 complaints related to change of investigation were addressed. Through the IGP Complaint Center 1787, by expediting the process of redressal, the safe recovery of 1,611 abducted persons was also made possible. Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that all complaints received from citizens are resolved within the prescribed timelines in accordance with SOPs. He further said that the monitoring system has been made more active to further enhance the performance of the 1787 Complaint Center.IG Punjab said that all DPOs are personally monitoring matters for the prompt redressal of complaints received through the 1787 complaint system to ensure timely justice for citizens. Dr. Usman Anwar appealed to the public that in case of any complaint against police officials, they should contact the IGP Complaint Center 1787 without hesitation.
