IGP sets 2026 targets, orders zero tolerance on crime

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office to review and finalise Punjab Police targets for 2026. The RPOs and the DPOs briefed the meeting on plans for crime control, narcotics eradication, infrastructure development and police welfare. The IG directed strict action in cases involving violence against women and children, declaring negligence in such matters unacceptable. He ordered intensified operations against crime, drugs and kite flying, and stressed zero tolerance for corruption and misuse of authority. Police welfare, martyrs’ families, promotions and completion of Safe Cities and service delivery projects were also reviewed.
