LAHORE: - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pun-jab Dr. Usman Anwar on Friday ap-proved a plan to enhance medical and health facilities for police officers dur-ing 2026, including the establishment of Care Well Police Welfare Hospitals in major cities across the province. The decision was taken during a meet-ing chaired by the IGP at the Central Police Office, where matters related to the health and medical treatment of po-lice personnel were reviewed. The meeting decided that modern police welfare hospitals, equipped with ad-vanced medical facilities on the model of the Care Well Police Welfare Hospi-tal Gujranwala, would be established in major urban centers. Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the proposed hospitals should be set up in densely populated areas to ensure easy access for police employees and their families. He said that these wel-fare hospitals would provide modern medical treatment free of cost to police officers and their dependents. During the meeting, a briefing was giv-en on the functioning of the Care Well Police Welfare Hospital Gujranwala.
