On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Christmas celebrations continue in Punjab Police
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar hosted a special ceremony in honor of Christian officers and employees; announces Christmas bonus and an additional holiday
Punjab Police will provide foolproof security for the protection of lives and properties of the Christian community on Christmas.
On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Christmas celebrations are continuing within Punjab Police. In this context, a colorful Christmas ceremony was organized at the Central Police Office in honor of Christian officers and employees. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar was the chief guest of the ceremony. He cut the Christmas cake along with Christian officers and employees of the CPO and extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to them.
On this occasion, IG Punjab announced a Christmas bonus of Rs. 5,000 per person and one additional holiday for Christian employees. He said that on the occasion of Christmas, Punjab Police equally shares in the happiness of its Christian brothers. IG Punjab said that Christian and all other minority communities should benefit from the vast employment opportunities available in Punjab Police. He added that Punjab Police’s Meesaq Centres are promoting interfaith harmony and are playing an effective role in resolving the issues of Christians and all other minorities.
Dr. Usman Anwar also announced monthly rewards for selected Christian officers who demonstrate outstanding performance at Meesaq Centres. He said that on the occasion of Christmas, Punjab Police will provide comprehensive and foolproof security to churches, Christian localities, and the community.
IG Punjab said that more than 3,900 minority officers and personnel, including Christians, are rendering outstanding services in Punjab Police, while 450 female minority personnel are also an important part of the force. Minority police officers and personnel have also sacrificed their valuable lives during operations against terrorists and criminal elements.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Christian officers and employees of the CPO thanked IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar for sharing in the Christmas celebrations. The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Punjab Imran Arshad, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, AIG Admin & Security Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, AIG Welfare Nasir Mahmood Bajwa, along with other senior officers and personnel.
