Central Police Office: Ceremony Held to Award Foreign Scholarships to Police Martyrs’ Children Studying Abroad

01 crore and 15 lakh rupees Distributed as Foreign Scholarships for Children of Police Martyrs

 

A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for the distribution of foreign scholarships to talented children of police martyrs studying abroad. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar was the chief guest of the ceremony. Families of 8 police martyrs from Lahore and other parts of Punjab, along with their children, participated in the ceremony. Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Welfare and Finance Zeeshan Asghar, DIG Training Rao Munir Zia, AIG Finance Nida Umar Chattha, and AIG Admin and Security Dr. Asad Ejaz Malhi were also present on the occasion. During the ceremony, an amount of Rs 11.5 million was distributed as foreign scholarships for children of police martyrs studying abroad. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar and senior police officers distributed the scholarship amounts among the parents of the children.

Recipients of the foreign scholarships include children of police martyrs belonging to Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Vehari, and Special Branch Lahore. Punjab Police spokesperson said that children of police martyrs are pursuing higher education in renowned educational institutions in various countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, Scotland, and Kyrgyzstan. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is providing substantial financial assistance for higher education abroad to the children of constables and head constables. Punjab Police has so far provided Rs 28.5 million rupees as foreign scholarships to the children of constables. IG Punjab further said that Punjab Police is spending Rs 21 million daily on the welfare of the force and their families.
