Evacuation process of Illegally Residing Foreign Nationals Continues Across Punjab
Punjab Police deport 31,377 Afghans in Province-Wide Action Against Illegal Foreign Nationals, spokesperson Punjab Police.
Punjab Police are carrying out the evacuation of illegally residing foreign nationals across the province in an effective and sustained manner, under which a total of illegal foreign nationals, including 31,377 Afghans, have so far been deported, while 203 individuals are presently housed at various holding points. Providing details, spokesperson for Punjab Police said that those deported include 11,576 men, 6,679 women and 13,133 children. Among those deported are 10,043 individuals possessing residential proof, 11,067 Afghan Citizen Card holders, and 10,267 illegally residing foreign nationals. To organize and ensure the effective evacuation of illegally residing foreign nationals, 05 holding centers have been established in Lahore, while a total of 46 holding centers have been set up across the province. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that security is on high alert across the province and the evacuation of all illegally residing individuals is being ensured. IG Punjab further said that Punjab Police are implementing the policy of evacuation of illegally residing residents in accordance with international laws, and that human rights are being fully observed throughout the entire process.
