IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar's directives, security remained on high alert across the province on Friday
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, issued orders to enhance security across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Friday prayers, IG Punjab directed that security of mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, and sensitive locations must be ensured. IG Punjab said that search, sweep, and combing operations shall continue across the province, including Lahore. He directed that patrolling around mosques, Imambargahs, commercial centers, and major roads be intensified. IG Punjab said that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives, properties, and belongings of citizens is the top priority of Punjab Police. In this regard, all DPOs and senior police officers must remain in the field and personally review security arrangements. Dr. Usman Anwar further directed that police officers should listen to citizens’ issues in mosques after Friday prayers and take steps on the spot for their resolution. He said that senior officers should ensure that citizens’ concerns are heard and resolved at their doorstep through visits to mosques.
