Punjab Police Intensify Combing Operations and Mock Exercises Across the Province۔
Thousands Arrested as Millions Checked and large quantities of weapons Recovered۔
Punjab Police are continuing combing operations and mock exercises across the province, including Lahore. Sharing details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that more than 236,000 combing operations were carried out across the province this year, during which over 5 million individuals were questioned. During the combing operations, 9,155 criminals were taken into custody. From criminal and suspected individuals, authorities recovered 177 Kalashnikovs, 700 rifles, 5,000 pistols, 425 guns, 143 revolvers, and over 26,000 rounds of ammunition. IG Punjab said that to further improve police response in emergency situations, mock exercises are being conducted at educational institutions and various locations across the province, including Lahore. Police, the Bomb Disposal Squad, Rescue 1122, Elite Force, and other security agencies participated in these emergency drills. IG Punjab directed that combing operations and mock exercises must continue to ensure accountability of anti-state and criminal elements. He further said that extensive door-knocking should be carried out to curb terrorists and miscreants, and the profiling and data-checking of all individuals arriving from outside the province must be ensured.
