Central Police Office: Rank-Pinning Ceremony Held for Officers Promoted to Inspector.
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a dignified rank-pinning ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for officers promoted to the rank of Inspector. IG Punjab awarded Inspector ranks to 49 promoted officers from Lahore. A large number of parents, children, and family members of the promoted officers participated in the ceremony. IG Punjab and senior officers congratulated the newly promoted Inspectors and their families.
While addressing the ceremony, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has expressed full confidence in Punjab Police by providing more resources than ever before. IG Punjab said that with the establishment of the Crime Control Department (CCD), the Riot Management Police, and the increase in seats from Constable to SP rank, the operational capacity of the police force has increased historically.” He added that all units of the police, including CTD and Special Branch, have been upgraded and new vehicles and posts have been provided.
Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police will soon take more effective measures to curb digital crimes with the establishment of the Cyber Crime Department. He shared that under the Safe Punjab Vision, the Chief Minister has expanded the Safe Cities Project to 141 cities. IG Punjab said that in return for the strong trust of the Chief Minister and the Government of Punjab, the responsibility of service delivery and public relief now rests with us. In his address, he made it clear that “promotion is not a right, but something earned through tireless hard work, honesty, and excellent service delivery.” IG Punjab said that challenges are greater than ever before; combating terrorism, theft, robbery, and drug trafficking are fundamental duties. He directed the officers to provide immediate and effective relief to affected citizens at police stations, checkpoints, roads, during enforcement of traffic laws, at service centers, and on 15 calls. Additional IG Welfare & Finance Imran Arshad, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Headquarters Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, as well as AIGs and ASPs attended the ceremony.
