IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Directs Province-Wide High Alert Security Measures for Friday Prayers.

 

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, while directing the enhancement of security across the province including Lahore on the occasion of Jumu’ah (Friday), said that the high alert security of mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, and other sensitive locations must be ensured. IG Punjab said that search, sweep, and combing operations across the province, including Lahore, should continue without interruption. He instructed that patrolling around mosques, Imambargahs, commercial centers, and highways be increased. IG Punjab said that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives, properties, and belongings of citizens is the top priority of Punjab Police. In this regard, all DPOs and senior police officers should remain present in the field and personally review the security arrangements. Dr. Usman Anwar further directed that police officers should listen to citizens’ issues in mosques after Friday prayers and take steps to resolve them on the spot. He said that senior officers should ensure that citizens’ problems are heard and resolved at their doorstep through visits to mosques.
