Central Police Office: Rank-Pinning Ceremony Held for Officers Promoted to Inspector
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, a dignified rank-pinning ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for officers promoted to the rank of Inspector. The IG Punjab awarded Inspector ranks to 70 officers promoted from the Dera Ghazi Khan region. A large number of parents, children, and family members of the promoted officers also attended the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the police officers and personnel of DG Khan stand as a fortified wall against terrorists and criminal elements. He said that with the establishment of the Crime Control Department (CCD), the crime rate in the province has decreased by up to 70 percent. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the scope of the CCD is being further expanded, which will result in the creation of more than one thousand new positions from constable to SP rank. Similarly, hundreds of new posts have also been created with the establishment of the Cyber Crime Department, which will enable further promotions.
IG Punjab said that the Punjab Police is grateful to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the Government of Punjab for their strong support and continuous assistance. Issuing clear directions, he said that the zero-tolerance policy against corruption and misconduct should be strictly enforced, and service to citizens with exemplary conduct must be ensured. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that officers must serve the public selflessly in return for promotions, welfare initiatives, and motivation.
The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad; DIGs Suleman Sultan Rana, Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, Zeeshan Asghar, Mansoor-ul-Haq Rana, Liaqat Ali Malik; as well as AIGs, SPs, and SDPOs.
