Special ceremony held at Central Police Office for distribution of wheelchairs to special children of police employees and Ghazi officials

Lahore, 02nd December 2025:

A special ceremony was held at the Central Police Office in collaboration with the private welfare organization Milestone and a Japanese private welfare organization to distribute wheelchairs to the special children of police employees and Ghazi officials. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, distributed specially designed wheelchairs among 7 special children of police employees and 3 Ghazi officials. Office-bearers of the private welfare organization and the Japanese welfare organization, Shenoda Hiroyuki, Hirata Masayuki, Kawahara Hiroki, Murata Kenichi, Takechi Yuhi, and Miyaki Yoshitaka, also participated in the ceremony.

The IG Punjab appreciated the cooperation of Milestone CEO Shafiq-ur-Rehman and the Japanese organization for the welfare of the children and Ghazi officials. He said that the special children of police employees suffering from polio, paralysis, and other illnesses are unable to walk, for whom specially crafted wheelchairs have been prepared. The IG added that efforts are underway to arrange lift vans for the long-distance travel needs of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, as well as Ghazi officials. In the ceremony, besides children of police employees from PHP, Lahore, and Sahiwal, Ghazi officials Muhammad Hashim, Aurangzaib, and Shahid Ali, who are paralyzed in their lower body were also provided with special wheelchairs.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police continues to provide every possible assistance for the welfare and rehabilitation of its special children. Under the “Our Flowers” project, financial assistance and stipends are being provided for medical treatment of children suffering from various health conditions. The provision of wheelchairs will bring great ease to these children in their mobility. Milestone CEO Shafiq-ur-Rehman said that, in collaboration with Punjab Police, more wheelchairs will be provided to the children of additional employees as well. Additional IG Welfare & Finance Imran Arshad, AIG Inspection Shaista Nadeem, AIG Welfare Muhammad Abdullah Lak, and AIG Admin & Security Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, along with other officers, were also present at the ceremony.
