A delegation of the Association of Former Inspectors General of Police (AFIGP) Punjab Chapter visited the Central Police Office Lahore. The delegation was led by President AFIGP Punjab Chapter, former IG Punjab Ahmad Naseem, while General Secretary and former Additional IG Ghalib Bandesha, former IGs Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan, Tariq Khosa, Altaf Qamar, and other senior former officers and office-bearers were also part of the delegation. Upon the delegation’s arrival at the CPO, Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, AIG Admin & Security Dr. Asad Ijaz Malhi, and other senior officers were present.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated the office-bearers on their success in the recent elections of the Association and welcomed the delegation. During the meeting, matters related to the overall security situation in the province, protection of the state, establishment of writ, policy affairs, reforms, policing, training, service delivery, and institutional improvement were discussed. Punjab Police spokesperson said that the meeting also reviewed police promotions, welfare, enhancement of the force’s capacity, and institutional reforms. The former IGs appreciated the significant improvements made by the current police leadership in various areas and paid tribute to the eternal sacrifices of Punjab Police martyrs for eliminating terrorism and establishing peace.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the experience and consultation of former IGs in policing, policy, reforms, and training affairs have provided special guidance and support, which has accelerated the professional improvement of the force. AFIGP President Ahmad Naseem announced that the Association will hold regular seminars and training sessions for the professional skills development, training, and grooming of the police.
