IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Praises Successful Operation; Orders Best Medical Care for Injured Personnel
Acting on Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Drug-Free Punjab vision, Punjab Police continue to execute successful crackdowns. In this regard, Punjab Police Dera Ghazi Khan carried out a major action against drug dealers, as a result of which two notorious drug traffickers were killed, while a large quantity of weapons and narcotics was also recovered. According to details, Punjab Police Dera Ghazi Khan conducted a targeted crackdown against drug dealers in the areas of Police Station Raitra and Kot Qaisrani. During the police operation, indiscriminate firing by the drug dealers resulted in five police personnel being injured, who were immediately shifted to the hospital. Due to the drug dealers’ own indiscriminate firing, the notorious drug traffickers Rafi Seth and Ghulam Akbar were killed on the spot. DPO Dera Ghazi Khan Muhammad Ali Waseem remained present at the scene and conducted a detailed review of the operational situation. DPO Dera Ghazi Khan said that special teams have been formed to trace the fleeing suspects, while the search operation is still ongoing. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar appreciated the Dera Ghazi Khan Police team for the successful action and directed that the zero-tolerance policy against drug dealers must continue to be implemented. He also ordered ensuring the best medical facilities for the police personnel injured in the firing.
