Punjab Police Actively Ensuring Strict Implementation of Traffic Laws

Punjab Police is actively working to ensure the enforcement of traffic laws, and in this regard, 27,292 individuals were issued driving licenses during the last 24 hours. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 38,736 traffic challans were issued for violations of traffic laws, while fines amounting to 28 million rupees were imposed. Challans were issued to 4,375 smoke-emitting vehicles, and 160 vehicles were impounded at police stations. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed officers to continue effective actions against those who violate traffic laws. Crackdowns should be intensified against overloading, over speeding, underage driving, and wrong-way violations. Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police’s 127 Driving Training Schools are also providing training to citizens. He further instructed that effective measures should be ensured for the recovery of unpaid traffic fines.
