The crime-thriller film “Jujji,” which secured first place at the Punjab Police Film Festival, is receiving widespread international acclaim. The film has now been released for streaming in the United States and the United Kingdom on Amazon Prime. IG Punjab Dr Usman Anwar congratulated Director Habib Shahzad on the film’s global recognition, stating that films and dramas produced by private film-making institutions play a vital role in highlighting the achievements and efforts of the police force. He added that Punjab Police will continue to support and encourage private film-makers in producing quality and thought-provoking films on crime-related themes.
Punjab Police had organised a crime-themed film festival last year, in which films produced by private film-making institutions competed. “Jujji,” a creation of the private production house BHM Films, was declared first in all categories, including Best Story and Best Acting. Renowned Pakistani artists Touqeer Nasir, Usman Peerzada, and Syed Noor served as judges at the festival. The spokesperson for Punjab Police stated that the film “Jujji” has already won multiple awards both nationally and internationally. He further added that the film revolves around the horrifying murders committed by a serial killer and the police investigation leading to his arrest. The film presents different aspects of police investigation and the challenges faced during the process in a realistic manner.
