IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Directs Maximum Security for Citizens across the province on Jummah.

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, directed an increase in security across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Jummah (Friday prayers). IG Punjab said that security of mosques, Imambargahs, courts, and markets, as well as other sensitive locations, should be ensured. IG Punjab stated that patrolling around mosques, Imambargahs, commercial centers, courts, and roads should be intensified to ensure the safety of citizens. He said that maintaining security and law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens is the police’s top priority. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed all DPOs and senior police officers to personally monitor security arrangements in the field and ensure strict implementation of Section 144. He made it clear that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands under any circumstances. IG Punjab said that police officers should listen to citizens’ problems at mosques after Friday prayers and take immediate measures to provide relief, so that citizens can have the convenience of resolving their issues at their doorstep.
