Two-Day Promotion Board Starts for Elevation of Sub-Inspectors to Inspectors
The two-day Promotion Board meeting for the promotion of sub-inspectors to the rank of inspectors in Punjab Police has commenced at the Central Police Office, Lahore. The meeting is being chaired by Additional Inspector General of Police Punjab, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry. According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, the meeting is being attended by DIG Headquarters Muhammad Abid Khan, DIG Establishment-I Suleman Sultan Rana, DIG Establishment-II Liaqat Ali Malik, AIG Discipline, AIG Legal, and other relevant officers. During the Promotion Board proceedings, over 900 cases of sub-inspectors being considered for promotion to the rank of inspector are under review. Eligible sub-inspectors meeting the criteria of merit and prescribed rules and regulations will be promoted to the rank of inspector. The spokesperson further said that so far this year, five Promotion Boards have already been convened for the promotion of sub-inspectors to inspector rank, through which 757 officers have been promoted to the next rank. He added that during the past two and a half years, a total of 26 Promotion Boards have been held in Punjab Police for the promotion of sub-inspectors to inspectors, resulting in the promotion of 3,167 officers to higher ranks.
