Punjab Police Continues Welfare Initiatives for Force and Their Families
Over Rs. 1.84 Billion Spent on Police Welfare During the Current Year
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, continues to take comprehensive measures for the welfare of police personnel and their families. In line with this strategy, more than Rs. 1.84 billion have been spent so far during the current year on various welfare initiatives for the Punjab Police force. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, over Rs. 556.3 million have been disbursed as educational scholarships for the children of police employees, while wedding gifts amounting to more than Rs. 500.5 million have been provided for the marriages of their daughters. In addition, more than Rs. 280 million were spent to support medical treatment facilities for police personnel and their families, whereas over Rs. 241.2 million were released under retirement grants. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that families of police employees were provided with subsistence allowances exceeding Rs. 189.9 million. Likewise, Rs. 56.25 million were given as burial expenses and more than Rs. 16.4 million as emergency financial assistance.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that funds from the Police Welfare Fund and other welfare sources are being utilized to address the needs and challenges faced by police personnel and their families. He added that MOUs have also been signed with leading hospitals and educational institutions to ensure quality healthcare and education for police employees and their dependents.
