IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Orders High Security Across the Province on Friday
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has ordered enhanced security across the province, including Lahore, on Friday (Jummah), emphasizing the protection of mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, and other sensitive sites. IG Punjab said that strict vigilance should be maintained on miscreants and anti-state elements, while search, sweep, and combing operations should also continue uninterrupted. He further directed that patrolling should be increased around mosques, Imambargahs, business centers, and along highways.
IG Punjab said that maintaining law and order, and protecting the life, properties, and assets of citizens, is the top priority of Punjab Police. In this regard, all DPOs and senior police officers should remain present in the field and personally review the security arrangements. Dr. Usman Anwar further directed that police officers should listen to the problems of citizens in mosques after Friday prayers and take measures on the spot to resolve them. He said that senior officers should reach citizens’ doorsteps through mosques, listen to their problems, and ensure their resolution.
