IG Punjab Visits Faisalabad; Safe City Project Helps Reduce Crime by 33%

IG Punjab Directs to Ensure Best Service Delivery at Police Khidmat Marakiz

Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar visited Faisalabad, where he conducted a detailed review of the Safe City Project and the Police Khidmat Markaz. On this occasion, RPO Faisalabad Zeeshan Asghar, CPO Sahibzada Bilal Umar, and other senior officers were also present. IG Punjab visited the Integrated Command, Control and Communication Centre (IC3) and reviewed the response time and monitoring system through live surveillance of various locations in the city. SSP Safe City Tariq Mahboob briefed the IG Punjab regarding the monitoring and operational system of the project using modern cameras.

On this occasion, RPO Faisalabad Zeeshan Asghar shared that the establishment of the Safe City has led to a 33% reduction in serious crimes. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Safe Punjab Vision,” Safe Cities are playing a key role in crime control, traffic management, environmental monitoring, and encroachment control. Later, IG Punjab also visited the Police Khidmat Markaz and reviewed the quality of facilities being provided to citizens. He inspected the modern simulators and the standard of service delivery at the Driving Licensing and Training Centre. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Police Khidmat-o-Tahafuz Marakiz and Misaq Centres are flagship projects of Punjab Police aimed at the welfare and well-being of citizens. IG Punjab directed the staff of the Police Khidmat Markaz to treat citizens with courtesy and more respect.
