Safe City Cameras Lead to 21% Drop in Sargodha Crime; IG Punjab Calls for Enhanced Monitoring. IG Punjab Directs Acceleration of Traffic and DPO Office Construction Work.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar visited Sargodha. On this occasion, RPO Muhammad Shahzad Asif Khan, DPO Sohaib Ashraf, District Traffic Officer, and other senior police officers were present. During his visit, IG Punjab inspected Safe City Sargodha, RPO Office, Police Khidmat Markaz and under-construction Traffic and DPO offices, and reviewed ongoing development and administrative matters. RPO Sargodha Muhammad Shahzad Asif Khan provided IG Punjab with a detailed briefing on the performance of Safe City Sargodha and the measures taken for crime control. RPO Sargodha shared that with the help of Safe City cameras, the crime rate in the city has been reduced by 21 percent.

IG Punjab appreciated the performance of the Safe City project and directed that the monitoring system should be made even more effective, and public safety should be ensured through modern technology. He also said that students of educational institutions should be arranged visits to Safe City Sargodha so that they could become aware of the utility and importance of Safe City. IG Punjab also visited various sections of RPO Office Sargodha, reviewed records, and inquired about the facilities provided by the staff. Afterwards, he observed the services being provided to citizens at Police Khidmat Markaz Sargodha and issued directives for further improvement of public facilities. During the visit, IG Punjab reviewed the pace of construction work of the under-construction Traffic offices and DPO office and directed that the construction process be expedited.
