Deputy Inspector General Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab, Umar Salamat, was called on by trainee DSPs of the National Police Academy. On this occasion, DIG briefed the trainee officers about the overall performance and various initiatives of the CTD aimed at eliminating terrorism and subversive elements. DIG Umar Salamat said that the Counter Terrorism Department Punjab has a pivotal role in ensuring peace and promoting economic activities in the province. He said that CTD personnel have been provided with advanced operational training to effectively counter terrorism and face every challenge with professionalism. He further said that the brave personnel of Counter Terrorism Force Punjab have thwarted the nefarious designs of Khawarij terrorists and Fitna-tul-Hindustan through their courage and sacrifice.
DIG Umar Salamat shared that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has equipped CTD Punjab with modern infrastructure, technology, logistics, and transport, which has significantly enhanced the operational capacity of the force. At the end of the meeting, DIG CTD also answered the queries of the trainee DSPs and shared his practical experiences and insights regarding counter-terrorism challenges and operations.
