State Authority Will Be Maintained at All Costs, and Ensure the Sacrifices of Martyrs Are Not in Vain, IG Punjab
For the Protection of Life, Properties and National Stability, Punjab Police Will Make Any Sacrifice, Dr. Usman Anwar
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that whenever investment begins to flow into the country, armed groups, under the guise of protests, start acts of violence, arson, and damage to public and state property. He further emphasized that the Punjab Police will not hesitate to make the greatest sacrifices to ensure the protection of national economic growth, as well as citizens' lives, properties, and assets. IG Punjab added that the authority of the state will be upheld at all costs and that the blood of police martyrs will never go in vain. He made these remarks while meeting the families of 12 police officers martyred during the violent protests by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) at the Central Police Office Lahore. Among those present were the families of Inspector Shehzad Nawaz Jhumat, who was martyred by armed TLP groups, and 11 other police officers martyred during the violent protests of 2021. Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect citizens' lives and property, and offered prayers for their elevation in rank.
Dr. Usman Anwar directed the DPO Muzaffargarh to arrange plots for the families of two police officers who were martyred in accidents during the 2021 TLP protests. He also mentioned that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif had improved the martyr's package in recognition of the Punjab Police’s timeless sacrifices, ensuring the welfare and well-being of the martyrs’ families. IG Punjab embraced the father and brother of martyred Inspector Shehzad Nawaz Jhumat, paying tribute to his sacrifice, while showing affection towards the children of the martyrs and presenting them with gifts. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that there can be no substitute for the sacrifices made by the police martyrs. Over the past two and a half years, exemplary steps have been taken to ensure the welfare of their families.
