Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Vision of "Smog-Free Punjab"

Police Operations ensuring swift measures to Prevent Smog, Air Pollution, and Environmental Protection

During this year 824 Cases Registered, 775 Accused Arrested, 290,000 Smoke-Emitting Vehicles Fined.

Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a “Smog-Free Punjab,” Punjab Police is actively continuing operations to prevent smog, control air pollution, and protect the environment. Punjab Police spokesperson sharing the details, that during the ongoing anti-smog crackdown this year, a total of 824 cases have been registered, and 775 accused have been arrested. In the provincial capital Lahore, 34 cases have been registered and 41 accused arrested during the anti-smog crackdown. A total of 290,000 smoke-emitting vehicles have been fined, more than 24,000 vehicles have been impounded, and fitness certificates of 283 vehicles have been suspended. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has ordered further acceleration of the anti-smog crackdown on highways, industrial areas, agricultural zones, and other regions. IG Punjab directed that strict action must continue under a zero-tolerance policy against those violating smog SOPs.
