Third Phase of Repatriation of Illegally Residing Foreign Nationals Underway Across Punjab.

The third phase of repatriation of illegally residing foreign nationals is currently underway across Punjab. In continuation of this operation, Punjab Police has so far deported more than 21,900 illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghans, from Lahore and other parts of the province. Additionally, 423 individuals residing illegally are currently present at holding points. Providing details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that among those deported are 7,656 men, 4,745 women, and 9,508 children. These include 6,007 individuals holding residential proof, 10,861 holding Afghan Citizen Cards, and 5,041 foreign nationals residing illegally. Five holding centers have been established in Lahore, while 46 have been set up across the province. Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that while maintaining a high security alert, the repatriation of all illegally residing individuals is being ensured. He further added that Punjab Police is following the policy of repatriation of illegal residents in accordance with international laws, and that human rights are being fully respected during the process.
