IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Orders Tightened Security Across Province for Jumma-tul-Mubarak

Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has issued orders to further tighten security arrangements across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Jumma-tul-Mubarak. He directed that security of mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets, and sensitive locations must be ensured. IG Punjab directed that patrolling around commercial centers, Imambargahs, and mosques should be increased, and all field officers must personally inspect the security arrangements. He said that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives, properties, and belongings of citizens is the top priority of Punjab Police. Dr. Usman Anwar instructed all DPOs and senior police officers to remain present in the field and ensure the strict implementation of Section 144, adding that no one should be allowed to take the law into their own hands under any circumstances. IG Punjab said that police officers should listen to the issues of citizens in mosques after Friday prayers so that public grievances can directly come to the attention of the police. He further said that senior officers should address citizens' concerns at their doorstep through mosques and inform the public about the facilities being provided by the police.
