Stability, not chaos — life remained normal across Punjab
Strike call failed— markets, educational institutions, and traffic operated as usual
Action under Anti-Terrorism Act to be taken against miscreants, IG Punjab
Stability prevailed across Punjab as life continued as usual in Lahore and other cities of the province. According to the spokesperson for Punjab Police, all markets, business centers, and educational institutions remained open as per routine. Citizens and the trader community completely rejected the strike call given by certain miscreant elements. Traffic and public transport remained smooth in all cities, while all highways and main roads, including the Motorway, GT Road, and Ring Road remained open for traffic. There was no disruption to daily life or traffic flow at any location. Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, stated that Punjab Police is fully alert to ensure the safety of citizens’ lives, property, and public assets. Police personnel were deployed at markets, business centers, highways, and important locations to maintain peace, Law and order. The IG Punjab made it clear that in case of any unlawful or violent activity by troublemakers, strict action would be taken. Cases will be registered against such miscreants under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The Punjab Police spokesperson further stated that with the help of Safe Cities cameras, facial recognition apps, vehicle registration plate monitoring, and artificial intelligence, identification and arrests of those involved in any disruptive or violent activities will be carried out.
