Tribute on the 16th Anniversary of 14 Martyrs of Punjab Police

The sacrifices of police officials who were martyred in the 2009 terrorist attacks will always be remembered.
Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar paid tribute to the police martyrs on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of 14 police officers who embraced martyrdom in three different terrorist attacks in Lahore. IG Punjab said that we salute the great sons who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and their families. Punjab Police will never forget the eternal sacrifices of its brave sons.
Punjab Police spokesperson while sharing the details, said that on this very day in 2009, terrorists targeted three different locations: Elite Police Training School, Police Training School Manawan, and the FIA Building. In these attacks, 14 police officers and officials embraced martyrdom. In the terrorist attack on Police Training School Manawan, 10 police officials were martyred; in the attack on Elite Police Training School, 3 officials were martyred; while in the attack on the FIA Building, one police officer embraced martyrdom.
Among those martyred were 2 Inspectors, 2 Sub-Inspectors, 1 ASI, 1 Head Constable, 5 Constables, and 3 Driver Constables. In the suicide attack on the FIA Building, Inspector Rana Farooq was martyred. During the encounter with terrorists at Elite Police Training School, ASI Ghulam Jaffar, Constable Irfan Bukhari, and Sajid Hussain Shah embraced martyrdom. In the attack on Police Training School Manawan, Inspector Salamat Ali, Sub-Inspectors Muhammad Anwar and Muhammad Aslam, Head Constable Muhammad Tahir, Constables Muhammad Shakeel, Muhammad Asif, Shahid Ali, and Driver Constables Zaheer Ahmad, Saifullah, and Nasrullah sacrificed their lives while fighting against the terrorists.
