Punjab Police is active across the province, including Lahore, to suppress criminals and anti-state elements, and in this regard, Punjab Police is continuing operations against gangs involved in murder, kidnapping for ransom, rape, robbery, and other serious crimes. Informing about the details, the Punjab Police spokesperson said that during the current year, Punjab Police arrested 11 thousand 198 dangerous criminals belonging to 4574 gangs, while stolen property worth more than 2 billion 72 crore was recovered from the possession of the criminals. The spokesperson further said that the stolen property included vehicles, motorcycles, mobile phones, gold, cattle, and cash. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 1430 Kalashnikovs, 2320 rifles, 27630 pistols, 2511 shotguns, 380 revolvers, and more than 2 Lakh bullets were also recovered from the possession of the criminals. Similarly, 5054 criminals belonging to 2273 gangs were arrested in the provincial capital, Lahore. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed to accelerate operations against criminals . IG Punjab further directed that operations against dangerous criminals shall continue under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif to make Punjab a crime-free province.
