In view of the current national situation, Punjab Police has been carrying out search, sweep, and combing operations across the province including Lahore. Sharing details, the spokesperson of Punjab Police said that during the last 24 hours, 343 combing operations were conducted in which 9,745 suspected individuals were checked, while 32 suspicious persons were taken into custody. Similarly, 25 search and sweep operations were also conducted, and during questioning of more than 2,730 individuals, 2 suspicious persons were taken into custody. The spokesperson of Punjab Police further shared that 281 proclaimed offenders involved in serious crimes, 66 court absconders, and 32 habitual criminals were also arrested.A large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the possession of criminal and suspicious individuals. The spokesperson further said that during the operations against criminal elements, 3 criminals were neutralized, 4 were injured, and 3 were arrested. Inspector General Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed that search, sweep, and combing operations should continue to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable.
