Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, directed to enhance security across the province including Lahore on the occasion of Jumma-tul-Mubarak. He emphasized that the security of mosques, imambargahs, shrines, and other important places must be ensured. He further said that the religious platforms play a significant role in societal reform and the provision of peace and justice. IG Punjab instructed that DPOs and senior police officers should visit local mosques on the occasion of Jumma-tul-Mubarak. He directed that police officers should listen to citizens’ concerns in mosques after Friday prayers. He said that, in line with the spirit and teachings of Islam, mosques are being developed as centers for community engagement. IG Punjab highlighted that mosques hold great importance and necessity in the reform, development, and progress of society. Issuing further directives, IG Punjab said that senior officers should listen to and resolve citizens’ problems at their doorstep through mosques, while also informing them about the services and facilities being provided by the police.
