IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar’s Welfare Measures Continue for the Families of Police Martyrs.
Rs. 8 Million in Cheques Distributed for House Construction and Laptops Awarded to talented Children of Martyrs.
Rs. 76.5 Million Provided So Far to 42 Martyrs’ Families for Home Construction Prior to 2017. IG Punjab
Under the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a ceremony was held at the Central Police Office Lahore to provide financial assistance to the families of police martyrs for home construction and to distribute laptops among the children of police martyrs pursuing education. IG Punjab distributed cheques worth Rs. 8 million among the families of 16 police martyrs from Lahore and various other districts for the construction of their homes, with each family receiving Rs. 500,000 in financial assistance. IG Punjab said that since 2017, Rs. 76.5 million have been provided to the families of 42 police martyrs for home construction, while 737 martyrs’ families have been allotted residential plots and 20 have been given apartments. During the ceremony, Dr. Usman Anwar also distributed laptops among 22 talented children of police martyrs. Laptops were given to the children of martyrs from Rawalpindi (3), Gujrat (3), Sheikhupura (2), Sialkot (2), Gujranwala (2), Okara (2), PHP Gujranwala (2), and one each from Lahore, Chakwal, Multan, Khanewal, Jhang, and D.G. Khan. Dr. Usman Anwar said that 88 laptops have been distributed among the children of martyrs this year, while a total of 211 laptops have been awarded over the past two and a half years. He added that Punjab Police, after allotting residential plots to the families of martyrs prior to 2017, is now also providing financial assistance for home construction. Additional IG Welfare & Finance Imran Arshad, DIG SPU & Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, and other senior officers were also present at the ceremony.
