Central Police Office: Promotion ceremony held for officers elevated to the rank of Inspector.
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a promotion rank-pinning ceremony was held at the Central Police Office for officers promoted to the rank of Inspector. IG Punjab pinned the Inspector ranks to 61 officers, including 31 from Bahawalpur Region and 30 from Multan Region. The ceremony was attended in large numbers by the parents, children, and family members of the promoted officers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that in view of terrorist attacks on inter-provincial check posts and the prevailing law and order situation, challenges for the police have increased. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz for her full support and enhancement of resources for the Punjab Police. IG Punjab further said that this year, five promotion boards were held for the elevation from Sub-Inspector to Inspector rank, during which 757 officers were promoted. Over the past two and a half years, 26 promotion boards have been convened for this rank, resulting in the promotion of 3,167 officers to higher positions. An additional promotion board for 220 seats will soon be convened, where officers’ service track record, reputation, ACRs, conduct, and reports will be thoroughly reviewed.
IG Punjab instructed the promoted officers to justify their advancement through exemplary behavior with citizens and complainants, effective delivery of justice, and dedicated public service. He directed SHOs to make police stations welcoming and model service centers characterized by courteous conduct. He further emphasized that major drug traffickers must be brought to justice and given exemplary punishments to rid society of this menace. Additional IG Punjab Sultan Ahmad Chaudhry, DIGs Establishment I & II, AIGs, SPs, and SDPOs attended the ceremony.
