IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar Addressed DSPs Under Training in Second Specialized Course

 

 

Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar addressed DSPs under training in the Second Specialized Training Course of the National Police Academy during their visit to the Central Police Office. The delegation, currently on a training tour of Punjab, comprised 43 trainee officers including 9 women. In his address, IG Punjab highlighted the importance of enhancing professional capacity, adopting modern policing approaches, and developing progressive attitudes. He emphasized that the experiences gained during training across different provinces play a vital role in the professional grooming and capacity-building of officers. He added that field experience, office management, administration, and public engagement form essential components of contemporary policing. Dr. Usman Anwar underscored the need to align policing with artificial intelligence and modern technology to ensure effective crime control and improved public service delivery.

 

During the session, Additional IG Training Tariq Rustam Chauhan and other senior officers briefed the trainee DSPs on various aspects of Punjab Police’s welfare, discipline, finance, operations, and investigation mechanisms. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, the officers were given comprehensive exposure to both urban and rural policing. The trainee DSPs also presented their observations and experiences in presentations, shared insights, and raised pertinent questions. DIG Training Rao Munir Zia, AIG Training Saba Sittar, and other officers also addressed the trainee officers.
