Punjab Police, AML Authority agreed on Joint Strategy to Combat Money Laundering and Terror Financing.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar assures full cooperation in Anti-Financial Crimes.
Chairman of the National Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) Authority Pakistan, former IG Punjab Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, visited Central Police Office Lahore. On this occasion, a smartly turned-out contingent of police presented him with a guard of honour. Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera laid a floral wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument and offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks. Director General AML/CFT Authority Ehsan Sadiq accompanied him. Chairman AML Mushtaq Sukhera presented proposals for formulating a joint strategy with Punjab Police to ensure the protection of the national economy, financial security, and safety. It was mutually agreed on the occasion that a uniform mechanism will be adopted at the inter-provincial level against criminals involved in money laundering and terror financing, and coordinated actions will be taken by taking other law enforcement agencies into confidence.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar assured the Chairman AML that Punjab Police will continue to extend full cooperation in the implementation of anti-financial crimes and standards. Chairman AML Mushtaq Sukhera said that with consultation from all stakeholders, the formation of a uniform mechanism and promotion of efforts against financial crimes will be ensured. Former IG Punjab appreciated the historical infrastructure development and use of artificial intelligence-based modern technology by Punjab Police over the past two and a half years and praised the efforts of IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar. Mushtaq Sukhera also inspected various departments of the Central Police Office and expressed pleasant surprise at the police infrastructure being brought up to international standards. On this occasion, DIG CTD Usman Akram Gondal, SSP CTD, and senior officers of law enforcement agencies were also present.
