Punjab Police’s initiatives continue for higher education and capacity building of its talented employees,

Private university provides scholarships worth 50 million rupees for 91 Punjab Police officers and personnel.

Punjab Police’s efforts for higher education and capacity building of its talented employees are ongoing, under which a private university (UMT) has provided scholarships worth 50 million rupees for 91 Punjab Police officers and personnel under an agreement signed with Punjab Police. Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, while expressing gratitude over this initiative, said that the provision of substantial scholarships by the University of Management and Technology is a remarkable opportunity for Punjab Police. He said that police officers and personnel are receiving education in modern fields such as modern policing, artificial intelligence, security and strategic studies, and information technology, which has significantly enhanced their professional capabilities.

IG Punjab further said that for the higher education of the children of police martyrs, retired, and serving employees, Punjab Police has also signed MOUs with 13 renowned educational institutions. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, under the MOU signed between Punjab Police and the university regarding higher education expenses, police officers are bearing only 10% of the cost, while the university is providing 90% scholarships. Punjab Police spokesperson further shared that currently, 24 constables, 18 police communication officers, 11 senior station assistants, 9 police technical officers, 5 sub-inspectors, and 5 data entry/wireless operators are studying at the private university. Similarly, 4 deputy executive officers of Safe Cities, 4 senior communication officers, 3 highway patrol police personnel, 3 police technical officers, 2 traffic wardens, 1 senior telecommunication officer, and 1 office superintendent are also receiving education under this program. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that with the cooperation of the private university, the capacity and efficiency of police officers and personnel have significantly improved, which will further enhance police performance and public service in the future.
