Crime Control, Traffic Management, and Police Development Schemes were reviewed.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed swift arrest of proclaimed offenders, ensure effective prosecution in narcotics cases, and intensify public awareness campaigns.
Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar chaired an important video link meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting was attended by Additional IG Investigation Punjab Shahzada Sultan, DIG SPU & Welfare Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, AIG Operations, AIG Development, and AIG Admin & Security, among others. Through video link, RPOs, DPOs, and District Traffic Officers of Sahiwal and Sheikhupura Regions, Commandant PC Additional IG Syed Khurram Ali, DIG Traffic Punjab Waqas Nazir, and DIG IT Rana Mansoor-ul-Haq also joined the session. IG Punjab reviewed matters related to crime control, prevention of traffic accidents and overloading, enhancement of licensing, installation of shades and simulators, and citizen facilities. He directed the RPOs of Sahiwal and Sheikhupura to address manpower shortages in the police constabulary and ordered accurate and verified data entry in HRMS and PSRIMS.
Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized the timely completion of pending road certificates and the effective and accurate use of all police apps, including E-Gadget, E-Post, Smart Eye, and Tent Registration. He instructed DPOs and the Special Protection Unit to ensure, through mutual consultation, the security of Chinese experts and nationals working on public and private projects. IG Punjab further directed that the pace of police development schemes in districts of Sahiwal and Sheikhupura Regions be expedited. He stressed that prevention and recovery in cases of robbery, street crime, motorcycle and vehicle theft should remain top priorities. He added that students and citizens must be educated about new crime trends through awareness campaigns, equipping them with preventive measures. He instructed that Category-A proclaimed offenders be arrested, effective prosecution ensured in narcotics cases, immediate FIRs be registered under the Anti-Rape Act, and investigations be conducted on merit to secure strict punishments for criminals. IG Punjab also emphasized that, along with combating crime, best medical treatment and financial support for police personnel injured in the line of duty must be ensured under all circumstances.
