Punjab Police has so far relocated more than 772,588 affected individuals and 634,649 livestock to safe locations during the recent flood rescue and relief operation. IG Punjab.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has said that the Punjab Police's rescue and relief operation for flood victims is ongoing, during which millions of citizens and livestock have been relocated to safe locations. He said that during the recent floods, Punjab Police has so far shifted more than 772,588 victims to safe places as part of the rescue and relief efforts. From the flood-affected areas, over 314,601 men, 246,760 women, and 211,227 children have been rescued. Similarly, 634,649 livestock belonging to the victims have also been moved to safe locations. A total of 15,000 officers and personnel, 720 vehicles, and 40 boats of Punjab Police are participating in the rescue and relief operation. Punjab Police spokesperson said that 317,777 citizens have been rescued from Multan region, and 137,617 citizens from Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan) region. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has commended the RPOs and DPOs for ensuring excellent rescue and relief operations under their supervision. IG Punjab said that during the rescue and relief operation, Safe City’s thermal imaging technology and drone cameras are being utilized, while on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police is extending full cooperation to the relevant institutions.
