Punjab Police’s rescue and relief operation continues in flood-affected areas.

On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police’s rescue and relief operation is ongoing in the flood-affected areas, under which so far more than 748,000 affected citizens have been shifted to safe locations, while 632,315 cattle of the flood victims have also been transferred to safer places. In the rescue and relief operation, more than 16,000 officers and personnel of Punjab Police, 773 vehicles, and 40 boats are participating. From the flood-affected areas, a total of 301,366 men, 240,502 women, and 206,206 children have been rescued so far.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the rescue and relief operation, Safe City’s thermal imaging technology and drone cameras are being used to ensure timely assistance to the victims. He further said that patrolling and surveillance in the flood-hit areas have also been increased. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 310,649 citizens have been rescued from Multan Region, and 119,646 citizens have been rescued from DG Khan Region. IG Punjab said that the rescue and relief operation will continue until the last citizen is shifted to a safe place.
