Punjab Police’s rescue and relief operation continues in flood-affected areas,
Punjab Police has so far shifted 693,706 citizens and 626,689 cattle to safe places, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar.
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the rescue and relief operation of Punjab Police continues in the flood-affected areas, under which so far 693,706 affected citizens have been shifted to safe places, while 626,689 cattle of the flood victims have also been shifted to safe places. More than 16,000 officers and personnel of Punjab Police, 770 vehicles and 40 boats are taking part in the rescue and relief operation. From the flood-affected areas, so far 277,442 men, 227,101 women, and 189,163 children have been rescued.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that during the rescue and relief operation, Safe City’s thermal imaging technology and drone cameras are being used so that timely assistance to the victims can be ensured. He further said that patrolling and surveillance in the flood-affected areas have also been increased. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 295,480 citizens from Multan Region and 95,204 citizens from DG Khan Region have been rescued.
