Punjab Police’s Rescue and Relief Operation for Flood Victims Continues to Transfer Them to Safe Locations
Punjab Police has so far transferred 615,278 affected citizens and 616,376 livestock from flood-hit areas to safe locations. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar
On the directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police’s Rescue and Relief Operation in flood-affected areas is continuing uninterrupted. In continuation of this effort, Punjab Police has so far shifted 615,278 affected citizens to safe locations. IG Punjab said that 616,376 livestock of the victims have also been moved from flood-hit areas to safe places.
According to the Police Spokesperson, so far 257,441 men, 193,832 women, and more than 164,000 children have been rescued from the flood-affected areas. In the Rescue and Relief Operation, more than 16,000 officers and personnel of Punjab Police, 770 vehicles, and 40 boats are taking part day and night. Through Safe City’s thermal imaging technology and drone cameras, effective monitoring and guidance of the rescue operation is also being carried out. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that from Multan Region 229,548 citizens, Faisalabad Region 71,454, D.G. Khan Region 83,510, and Sahiwal Region 63,688 citizens have been evacuated from the flood-hit areas and shifted to safe locations. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that Punjab Police is utilizing all possible resources for the protection of the lives and property of the affected citizens, and this Rescue and Relief Operation will continue purely in the spirit of public service.
