Punjab Police Rescue & Relief Operation in Flood-Affected Areas Continues Uninterrupted
From the flood-affected areas, so far 588,658 citizens and 611,596 livestock have also been shifted to safe locations.
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police Rescue and Relief Operation in flood-affected areas is continuing without interruption. As part of this continuity, Punjab Police has so far ensured the evacuation of 588,658 citizens from flood-affected regions. IG Punjab said that along with the affected citizens, 611,596 livestock have also been shifted from the flood-hit areas to safe places. In the Rescue and Relief Operation, Safe City’s modern thermal imaging technology and drone cameras are also being used to ensure timely and secure operations. Dr. Usman Anwar said that more than 16,000 officers and officials of Punjab Police, 768 vehicles, and 40 boats are taking part in the Rescue and Relief Operation.
Punjab Police spokesperson further said that so far, from flood-affected areas, 247,463 men, 184,260 women, and 156,935 children have been rescued. From Multan Region, 228,802 citizens were rescued. From Faisalabad Region, 71,454 citizens were shifted to safe places. Similarly, 69,517 citizens were evacuated from DG Khan Region and 57,342 victims from Sahiwal Region were also rescued from flood-affected areas.
