Punjab Police’s Rescue and Relief Operation Continues Rapidly to Relocate People Stranded in Flood-Hit Areas to Safe Locations
Inspector General Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar has said that every possible measure is being taken to ensure the evacuation and protection of citizens and livestock in flood-hit districts. According to the IG Punjab, with the help of Safe City’s thermal imaging technology and drone cameras, full support is being provided to the concerned departments in the rescue and relief operation.
Punjab Police spokesperson said that more than 16,000 officers and personnel of Punjab Police, 745 vehicles, and 40 boats are participating in the rescue and relief operation. So far, Punjab Police has relocated 573,919 victims from Lahore and various other affected districts to safe locations. From the flood-hit areas, 241,866 men, more than 179,000 women, and 152,971 children have been rescued, while 591,300 livestock belonging to citizens have also been moved to safe places. The spokesperson further shared that 225,775 citizens have been rescued from Multan Region, 71,400 from Faisalabad Region, more than 65,000 from Dera Ghazi Khan Region, and 57,342 from Sahiwal Region. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has appealed to citizens to fully cooperate with Punjab Police in the evacuation process in order to protect precious human lives.
